FELANPE 2018

FELANPE 2018: The XVI Latin American Congress of Clinical Nutrition, Nutrition Therapy and Metabolism, will take place in the city of Guadalajara (Mexico), at the Expo Guadalajara, from 22th to 25th of September 2018.

FELANPE is one of the most important events of Clinical Nutrition in Latin America that brings together a wide community of students, health professionals from all Iberoamerica and professors from different continents with very different experiences. The congress offers the opportunity to broaden the vision on the positive impact of optimal nutrition, in preventive as well as therapeutic aspects, in any stage of life or clinical condition, analysing topics of current relevance and with a view to future health prospects and new trends in the use of nutritional and natural substrates with beneficial effects for humans. The International Sweeteners Association (ISA) will participate in this congress with a sponsored symposium on Monday, 24th September 2018 (12:45-14:15 local time) and with an information booth during the whole duration of the congress.     ABOUT ISA PARTICIPATION

    The International Sweeteners Association (ISA) will participate in this congress with a sponsored symposium with international experts entitled “Low calorie sweeteners: safety, use and benefits in the diet”, which will be held on Monday, 24th September 2018 (12:45-14:15 local time). Speakers include:

    • Dr Susana Socolovsky, PhD, CFS, President of the Argentine Association of Food Technologists, who will talk about low calorie sweeteners’s safety and regulation;
    • Dr Hugo Laviada-Molina, Professor and Researcher, Marist University of Merida, Mexico. Clinical Endocrinologist, who will talk about the role low calorie sweeteners can play in the obesity epidemic;
    • Dr Pilar Riobó, Specialist in Endocrinologíy and Nutrition – Fundación Jiménez Díaz- Quiron Salud Hospital. Associate Professor, Universidad Autónoma Madrid, Spain, who will talk about low calorie sweeteners and glucose control.

    The ISA will also host an information booth during the whole duration of the congress, to address any questions on low calorie sweeteners, as well as to share ISA scientific materials on the role and benefits of low calorie sweeteners. Furthermore, participants who will visit the ISA information booth will have the opportunity to take part in a 5-minute survey, which can help us learn more about the scientific interests and views of health professionals and scientists in relation to the ISA and low calorie sweeteners. Participants who complete the short ISA survey will be entered into a prize draw to win the registration fees for the FELANPE congress in 2019.
