Ganepão 2018

The Ganepao 2018: 8th ICNO/CBNC – International Conference of Nutritional Oncology/ Brazilian Conference of Nutrition in Cancer and 2nd NEXSA – International Conference of Nutrition, Exercise and Health will take place in the city of Sao Paolo (Brazil), at the Centro de Convenções Rebouças, from 12th to 15th of June 2018, and is expected to be attended by over 2800 scientists and health professionals, mostly doctors and nutritionists but also nurses and pharmacists.

The Ganepao 2018 conference is the biggest nutrition event in Brazil and consists of two scientific events: the 8th CBNC International Conference of Nutritional Oncology – ICNO/ Brazilian Conference of Nutrition in Cancer – themed “Nutrition and Physical Activity in Oncology: From Prevention Forever!”, and simultaneously, the 2nd NEXSA – International Conference of Nutrition, Exercise and Health, under the topic Healthy Nutrition, Mind and Body: Perfect Health.

The International Sweeteners Association (ISA) will participate in this congress with a sponsored symposium on Wednesday, 13 June 2018 (12:30-14:00 local time) and with an information booth during the whole duration of the congress.     ABOUT ISA PARTICIPATION

    The International Sweeteners Association (ISA) will participate in this congress with a sponsored symposium with international experts entitled “Sweetness without calories: Safety, benefits and role of low calorie sweeteners in obesity and diabetes”, which will be held on Wednesday, 13 June 2018 (12:30-14:00 local time). Speakers include:

    • Prof Carlo La Vecchia, MD, Professor of Medical Statistics and Epidemiology, Department of Clinical Sciences and Community Health, School of Medicine, Università degli Studi di Milano, Italy, who will present a review of the evidence around low calorie sweeteners’ safety;
    • Dr France Bellisle, PhD, DSc, Psychologist. Nutritional Epidemiology. Université Paris 13. France, who will address sweetness without calories and the effect of low calorie sweeteners on appetite and energy intake;
    • Dr Caomhan Logue, Nutrition Innovation Centre for Food and Health, Ulster University, Coleraine, United Kingdom, who will talk about the role of low calorie sweeteners in obesity and diabetes from a public health perspective.

    The ISA will also host an information booth during the whole duration of the congress, to address any questions on low calorie sweeteners, as well as to share ISA scientific materials on the role and benefits of low calorie sweeteners. Furthermore, participants who will visit the ISA information booth will have the opportunity to take part in a 3-minute survey, which can help us learn more about the scientific interests and views of health professionals and scientists in relation to the ISA and low calorie sweeteners.
