Andrew Renwick é professor emérito na Faculdade de Medicina da Universidade de Southampton e publicou mais de 180 trabalhos de pesquisa originais e 35 capítulos de livros.

Foi membro de vários Comités Consultivos do Governo no Reino Unido e agraciado com um OBE (Oficial da Ordem do Império Britânico) na Lista de Honras do Ano Novo em 2000. Foi assessor da Autoridade Europeia para a Segurança Alimentar (EFSA) durante dois anos e conselheiro da Organização Mundial de Saúde durante mais de 12 anos.
