Let’s celebrate a Happy Mouth for A Happy Life!
On 20th March, the International Sweeteners Association (ISA) joins the global oral health community in celebrating World Oral Health Day 2026, organised by the FDI World Dental Federation under the theme “A Happy Mouth is… A Happy Life”. This year’s campaign highlights the importance of keeping good oral health at every stage of life and caring for your mouth from childhood to healthy ageing.
A healthy mouth plays a vital role in everyday life. It allows us to eat, speak, smile and connect with confidence, free from pain and discomfort. Yet oral diseases remain among the most common non‑communicable diseases worldwide, and prevention remains key.
Alongside good oral hygiene and regular dental care, diet also matters. Following a balanced, low-sugar diet is good for oral health. Low/no calorie sweeteners are “tooth-friendly” ingredients which are not fermented by oral bacteria and, therefore, do not contribute to dental caries.
Learn more about their benefits in our new factsheet for media: ‘Dental and Oral Health with Low/no Calorie Sweeteners’.
On World Oral Health Day and everyday at the ISA we aim to help inspire change towards a tooth friendlier diet for a Happy Mouth and a Happy Life!
