World Diabetes Day 2012

Living with diabetes – A mum and son’s story

In 2012, the International Sweeteners Association (ISA) proudly issued the first of our dedicated World Diabetes Day videos, entitled “Living with diabetes – A mum and son’s story”. This short film brought us into the day-to-day life of a young boy, Cole, diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. Through their eyes, Cole and his mum explain how a typical day goes, from monitoring Cole’s blood glucose level to preparing food and drinks adapted to his diet. For diabetic people, it is important not only to have a healthy and reduced-sugar sweetened diet, but also to do regular physical activity. With a good nutrition and a healthy lifestyle, Cole can live like any other boy of his age! The 2012 World Diabetes Day ISA support video can be found here below or in our video channel.
