EFAD Conference 2018

Data: 28 & 29 September 2018, Rotterdam, Netherlands

Celebrating 40 years of dietetic leadership, the EFAD Conference 2018, themed “Let’s make the difference”, is organised by the European Federation of the Associations of Dietitians (EFAD) in Rotterdam, Netherlands, on 28th and 29th September 2018. For yet another year, the conference will bring together dietitians from around Europe to discuss latest evidence on nutrition and dietetic research and practice, to address a wide range of topics relevant to dietitians today and to explore future areas of interest for dietitians.

The International Sweeteners Association (ISA) proudly supports and participates in the EFAD Conference for the fourth time this year, acknowledging the important role that dietitians play in raising awareness of and educating people towards a healthy diet.

ISA activities at EFAD Conference 2018 include an ISA information booth in the exhibition area during the whole duration of the congress. The ISA would like to kindly invite all participants to visit its information booth in order to address any questions on low calorie sweeteners and to receive information about the forthcoming ISA Conference 2018 on “The science behind low calorie sweeteners: where evidence meets policy”, which will take place in London, UK, on 6th November 2018.

The ISA also supports a talk by Prof Katherine Appleton, Bournemouth University (UK), entitled “Sweet taste exposure and preference for sweet taste in the diet”. This talk is part of the session “Hot topics in obesity and diabetes”, which is taking place on Friday, 28th September 2018, at 16:00-17:30 (Room: Penn). For more information about the session on “Hot topics in obesity and diabetes”, you may visit the conference website by clicking here.

The ISA information booth will also host the ISA resources for healthcare professionals including the ISA 16-page leaflet presenting latest scientific evidence on low calorie sweeteners and the updated ISA factsheets on the benefits of low calorie sweeteners. Furthermore, dietitians may visit the ISA booth to receive printed infographics that were developed with the scientific support of the EFAD’s European Specialist Dietetic Network (ESDN) for Diabetes to celebrate the World Diabetes Day in 2017 and the World Diabetes Day in 2016, respectively.

Your scientific interests and views in relation to low calorie sweeteners and the ISA are of highest importance to us, and therefore we would highly appreciate your participation in our 5-min survey. In return, participants who complete the short ISA survey will be entered into a prize draw to win the registration fees for the EFAD conference in 2019.

Join us at the EFAD Conference 2018 in Rotterdam, to stay informed about the latest research on low calorie sweeteners benefits and use in diabetes and weight management.

We look forward to seeing you all there!
