Fact sheets on low-calorie sweeteners

The range of low-calorie sweeteners approved and authorised for use in food and drinks in the EU includes acesulfame-K, aspartame, aspartame-acesulfame salt, cyclamate, neohesperidine DC, saccharin, sucralose and thaumatin.

The ISA fact sheets give a short introduction to each low-calorie sweetener and focus on aspects such as history, relative sweetness, metabolism, benefits, applications, and safety and regulatory status.
